Artist Statement
My practice is rooted in slow, intentional engagement with the natural world. Painting and drawing outdoors is a discipline of observation - a commitment to slow intention and focusing on the ground underfoot.
Each piece is a silent, sacred exchange with systems that exist outside of the self. The act of creation becomes an opportunity to engage more deeply with nature and to allow myself to be changed by it. The work serves as evidence of this internal event and a vessel that bottles the mystic for future use.
